Magnetic Gel Tutorial: Glass Cat Eye

Learn how to create a glass like finish (often called glass bead nails) with our Magnetic Gel, Milky Way 975.

  • To start, apply your chosen base colour & cure fully. You can use any base colour - using a sheer or jelly base will create give that 'glass' bead effect. Then apply a thin layer of Milky Way 794, do not cure.
  • Using the back of the round end of your magnet, move up at down on both sides of the nails. it will transform to a high shine and pull slightly away from the side walls.
  • Then, curve the magnet around the free edge.
  • Repeat for the cuticle area. Don’t get too close. You’ll see the gel transform from fine sparkle to a glass like shine. It may take some playing around to get the full effect.
Top Tips
Milky Way is very sensitive to the magnet so if you get too close or hold in one place for too long, the pigment may appear to ‘disappear’. If it does this, move the finger around in the light, if you can’t see any glow, brush the nail with whatever gel is left on brush to redistribute the pigment & go again.
