Meet Charlotte - Talent Team Founding Member
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your nail journey?
My name is Charlotte, and I’ve been dedicated to the nail industry since 2008, specialising exclusively in Calgel. My journey began as a spa therapist in Stratford-upon-Avon, where I discovered a true passion for manicures. I have transformed so many nails from weak and thin to touch to super strong. I really take great pride in the health of my client’s nails.
What inspires your work / creativity?
While I absolutely admire intricate designs and love a challenge now and then, my heart lies with the classics. For me, it’s all about short, square nails in a flawless, single shade. A shade I absolutely adore in particular is, Rosewater Builder.
What advice would you give someone new to the industry?
Stick with it, even when it feels frustrating. Progress takes time and practice makes perfect. I remember spending 45 minutes trying to perfect just one nail when I started. I am a complete perfectionist with my work and take huge pride, but it taught me patience and attention to detail. If you’re passionate and persistent, your confidence (and speed!) will grow. Trust the process, I promise it will be worth it and you will be fully booked in no time.
What does being a part of The Talent Team mean to you?
After 15 years of working exclusively with Calgel, being invited to join the Talent Team means the world to me. It’s incredibly rewarding to have my work recognised in this way by a brand I’ve believed in from the very start. Here’s to continuing to grow, share, and support the Calgel community who I love so much. Thank you for trusting me to represent you.
What do you hope to bring to our community of nail techs and enthusiasts?
I’d love to help and offer guidance and tips to anyone seeking reassurance and my goal is to host a training academy.
How do you use social media to connect with your audience and showcase your work?
I always make sure my photos are crystal clear with good lighting that shows the true colour and application at all angles, front and side, I love a good apex!
Do you have any tips for other nail techs looking to grow their online presence?
Invest in a good camera and good lighting, post frequently and tag all nail brands in your photos, including crediting fellow nail techs who you’ve gained inspiration from.
