Meet Maisie - Talent Team Founding Member

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your nail journey?

I've always had a passion for nails, back when I was younger, I had hundreds of nail polishes and spent hours after hours painting fake nails with patterns. Back when I had my prom, a friend of mine booked us in for nails. Neither of us were allowed acrylics so she found us a local Calgel technician and that's when I fell in love with it. She told me all about the brand and told me I can train myself. I was 16 at the time and that's when I qualified, I've loved it ever since.

I've always worked a catering job alongside doing nails but I'm now currently waiting for redundancy to go full time in June 2025! I can't wait to see what the future holds.

What inspires your work / creativity?

Other nail techs and people in the industry, it's such a lovely industry to work in. I feel so lucky to be part of it.

Is there a go-to nail look or design that never gets old for you?

as you can see from my social media page... FLORALS!

What do you specialise in?

Gel overlays & nail art.

What advice would you give someone new to the industry?

Consistency is key! Never give up, you'll get there. Always look back to see how far you've come.

What attracted you to Izabelle Hammon / Calgel and why do you feel aligned with it?

Honestly... not only is the product amazing, I respect their morals and professionalism. They are constantly keeping up with the times & everything is always spot on. But the best thing about it are the staff. You can email them and get in touch with social media too. The staff are always so lovely and kind and always happy to help.

What does being a part of The Talent Team mean to you?

It means so much. I'm so passionate about the brand and always sing its praises. I can't wait to be part of this closer-knit team.

What do you hope to bring to our community of nail techs and enthusiasts?

I hope to bring loyalty, inspiration and support.

How do you use social media to connect with your audience and showcase your work?

I post regularly and comment on other people's work because I used to be that person and loved people supporting me, you should always remember where you came from.

Do you have any tips for other nail techs looking to grow their online presence?

Consistency is key! Be present, comment back, like back. What you put in, you get out.

How do you stay inspired and keep your content fresh and engaging?

It's hard sometimes and it's disheartening when people don't praise your work but just keep going, because the next day, you could go viral.
