Magnetic Gel Tutorial: Velvet Cat Eye
How to create a full cover velvet-like effect using our Magnetic Gels in Celestial 793, Stellar 796, and Opposites Attract 797. The technique shown in the video is the same for all three gels. Written steps & images can be found below.
- Apply one coat of your chosen colour and cure. (You can also use a black base to transform the colours to deeper shades). Then apply your second coat - do not cure.
- Start with your magnet facing up and come in parallel to the sidewall. The magnetic pigment will start to activate - you will see the sparkle flash white.
- Then, immediately angle the magnet up slightly and stop when the white sparkle reaches the other side of the nail. This will be quick. Pull the magnetic away (not over) from the nail and repeat on the other side. You’ll see the white sparkle cover the whole nail.
- Repeat step 2 at the free edge of the nail to ‘push’ the sparkle away from the free edge a little. Then cure & seal with your choice of gel top coat
